The last song has finished, or the final buzzer has sounded, and suddenly everyone is heading out together. You might still be talking about the best part of the evening, but there is another thought in the background: how far is it to the hotel?
That is where a Seattle hotel choice becomes more than a pin on a map. A stay around Seattle Center can keep the evening focused on the concert or game. Downtown makes more sense when the arena is one part of a longer visit and you want a base for the rest of Seattle too. Both can work well. The difference is how you want the hours before and after the event to feel.
A night built around Seattle Center
Climate Pledge Arena is at 334 First Avenue North, within Seattle Center. For a trip that is mostly about the event, staying in the surrounding area has a simple appeal: you can spend less of the evening thinking about a connection back across town.
There is a particular comfort in having the main outing close to where you are sleeping. If you are only in Seattle for one night, or would rather head back to your room once the crowd disperses, that convenience may matter more than a downtown address. The useful comparison is the route from the arena entrance to your actual hotel, rather than the distance between two map markers. Street crossings, the weather and how comfortable you are walking all shape that final part of the night.
Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle Downtown is one option to consider here. Despite the Downtown name, its address is 700 Fifth Avenue North, on the north and east side of Seattle Center. That location puts it in the conversation for an arena visit, especially when the hotel is mainly somewhere to settle in before the event and sleep afterward. It is still worth looking at the walking route for your own needs; the address alone does not tell you about every crossing or accessible approach.
When the evening is part of a Seattle weekend
A downtown stay changes the balance a little. You are making room for the rest of the trip, with a separate journey to Seattle Center for the event. For two or three nights in the city, that can feel like a sensible exchange.
Hotel Ändra, at 2000 Fourth Avenue, is a downtown alternative. Westlake's Monorail connection is relevant to an arena evening from this part of Seattle: the Monorail links Westlake with Seattle Center. It makes downtown a realistic base without making it the same as staying beside the venue.
The room is only one part of that choice. A couple adding the concert to a weekend may be happy to make the trip back downtown. Someone with an early departure the next day may value a simpler finish to the evening. Neither needs to win in every situation. Our Seattle destination guide can help with the wider visit, while Seattle hotels on Travorro lets you compare the stays available for your dates.
Getting settled after the flight
If you are flying into Seattle Tacoma International Airport, the journey starts well before Seattle Center. Sound Transit describes the Link ride from the airport to downtown as roughly 38 minutes. That is time on the train, rather than the whole trip from collecting your suitcase to opening the hotel room door. The walk to the station, the wait and the final connection all add to it.
For Seattle Center, the arena describes taking Link to Westlake and continuing on the Monorail. It is an airport journey with a change downtown; the Monorail itself does not go to the airport. Depending on your hotel address, luggage and arrival time, a different walk, bus connection or a taxi may fit more comfortably.
On an event day, a little space between landing and heading to the arena is useful. A flight delay or a slow bag collection can turn what looked like a relaxed afternoon into a rush. Having time to reach the hotel, put your things down and get ready leaves more of the evening for the reason you came.
Two December evenings to build a trip around
For a December visit, the arena's official schedule lists Jonas Brothers on Saturday, December 5, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., and Seattle Kraken versus Buffalo Sabres on Sunday, December 6 at 5 p.m. Both times are local to Seattle. These are two separate event options, with different starts to the evening, rather than a combined trip package.
A concert night might lend itself to an afternoon arrival and time at the hotel before heading out. An earlier hockey game may fit differently around your flight or a second night in the city. The event date gives the stay its shape, but tickets and the hotel are separate bookings. The official event links below are the place to follow schedule changes; Travorro is not an official event partner.
The way back matters too
Getting to the venue and getting home afterward can feel like two different journeys. After the event, everyone leaves at much the same time. Even a short ride can involve a walk across Seattle Center and a wait before boarding.
For a downtown hotel, the last Monorail departure matters more than the usual ride time. December's exact last departures have not been verified for this guide. The return needs to fit the service running on your event date, including any onward Link journey. An extended Monorail schedule does not automatically mean there is a later airport train too.
A hotel in the Seattle Center area may give you the option of walking back, if the route suits your mobility and the conditions that night. For a ride instead, the arena's transportation page describes pickup areas and restrictions. Knowing where the car can meet you is more useful than assuming it will pull up just outside the doors.
A room that fits the people coming with you
The two hotel examples returned rooms for two adults on December 5 to 6 and December 6 to 7, 2026 when researched on October 10. Those results help make the location comparison concrete, but your dates and guests determine the rooms available now. They do not establish family occupancy or extra beds.
There were differences between the selected rates too. The Hampton result included breakfast and listed a mandatory property charge. The Ändra result was room only, with no excluded fee listed for that selected offer. Neither describes every rate at the hotel, and parking is a separate consideration if you bring a car.
For younger adults traveling to an event, Ändra's official FAQ gives a minimum check in age of 18. Hampton's minimum age was not confirmed in this research. Room layouts and arrival arrangements also deserve a little attention when the group has particular needs, especially if you are arriving late or need specific accessible features.
In the end, the better stay is the one that fits your version of the trip: an evening centered on the arena, or an event folded into a few days in Seattle. You can explore Seattle hotels on Travorro from either starting point. If another visit takes you to Seattle for a sailing, our Seattle cruise hotel guide looks at that different arrival plan.
